The Lake County Folk Club was formed in 1992 by a group of folk music enthusiasts who wanted to create a place where acoustic music could be played and heard. Later this year the Showcase Stage will feature Mark Dvorak, Tom & Chris Kastle, Kat Eggleston, Ed Holstein, and Michael Smith, so it's an honor to be invited to play here.
The venue is a little out of the way, but the roads are well marked so it's easy to find. Good Mexican food, and you can even order something from the bar. We'll be getting ready for St. Patrick's Day, so expect an extra couple of Irish songs in the mix, and we're planning on making this an entertaining way to bring in the work week. You can plan on bringing your voice and maybe a friend or two.

December 19th is almost Christmas. And one of the things that means is that it's time for the Two Way Street Coffee House Christmas Show featuring The Jones Family, plus us.
The Jones Family has been the centerpiece of this annual event for almost as long as the Two Way Street has been in existence. Indeed, for some hearing the Joneses sing is part of their family's Christmas tradition. And that's been true for us too. However once again we'll also be on stage as well as members of the audience. The old-timey repertoire of the Jones Family compliments the more popular, but no less folky, songs we sing. And both the Jones and us share a passion for creating community with music.
The first of two sets begins at 8:15 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. A $5.00 donation is requested. Coffees, teas, hot cider, cocoa, soft drinks, and snacks are available for purchase.

Once a year the Two Way Street offers an evening of Christmas Music. The emphasis is on traditional and contemporary holiday songs that beg to be sung by everyone. Okay, maybe there'll be a couple of pieces meant to be listened to too—but not many.
As we have for the last few years, we'll be there bringing songs about stables and mangers, angels and shepherds, and Santas and flying reindeer. We love sharing the Christmas music we grew up with and holiday songs that we've learned along the way. There's also sure to be a round or two of… rounds.
And we will be joined by our musical friends Steve and Sylvia Francois. We were introduced to Steve and Sylvia when we were all among those featured many years ago at the legendary None of the Above Coffeehouse, “The Vaudeville of the Chicago Folk Scene.” They have beautiful singing voices and pull some of their repertoire from many of the folk performers of the 60's and 70's that we enjoy. We've all been wanting to sing together for… a long time. And now we have the chance.
